The Effectiveness of the Law on the Right to Information – 2017

It is by now a tradition for Res Publica to evaluate the effectiveness of the law on the right to information at the end of each year. With the support of Civil Rights Defenders, the publication presents a critical picture of the law and its shortcomings. Theoretically, this law is ranked sixth in the world in terms of quality; however it does not have sufficient mechanisms to guarantee transparency from public authorities in case they deny requested information.
